One of the biggest concerns I hear from parents is they feel the education provided by driving schools lacks enough behind the wheel driving experience. Driving instruction experts recommend at least 100 hours before allowing a new driver to drive unsupervised.

Of course, driving schools can't provide this much experience which leaves this responsibility to parents. The Society of Family Insurance Specialists now offers a tool to help parents give this driving experience to their teen drivers at no cost.
The 'Teach My Teen to Drive' course is a 16 step program that is offered online for parents. Each step includes a lesson plan along with a check list of the skills teenagers need to become the safest of drivers. This course also provides parents with a structured outline to follow while giving their teen the much needed experience.
